Accommodation and rental car for your Fuerteventura vacation are booked, and the excitement is building—except for the issue of child seats. Does the car rental agency even offer child seats, and if so, what model and condition are they in? Often, this question cannot be answered on their website, by email, or over the phone. One rental agency doesn't offer child seats, another only provides them with uncertainty. So what are your options? Either you bring your own child seat on the plane and risk transport damage, or you book with us! 

When you rent an infant seat or child seat from us for your Fuerteventura vacation, you'll know in advance which seat will be provided and that it will be in proper, clean, and accident-free condition. You won't risk transport damage and can be sure that your child will be safely protected in your rental vehicle.

Child Seat Rental: How to Rent Your Child Seat for Your Fuerteventura Vacation

First, choose whether you want to rent an infant seat, a child seat (61 to 105 cm), or a booster seat (15 to 36 kg, approximately 4 years and up). Then, select your travel dates or rental period in the calendar. Dates when no child seats are available will be blocked in the calendar.

Next, add your booking to the cart. Our system will add a deposit of €200 per child seat to your rental fees. You will, of course, get this deposit back after the child seat is properly returned at the end of your Fuerteventura vacation.

Pickup and Return of Your Child Seat on Fuerteventura

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Our Child Seat Rental Service on Fuerteventura

1. Where can I pick up my child seat?

The child seat pickup is at the parking area near the ticket booth. The return of the child seats also takes place there. You will receive an email beforehand with the exact time and location for the pickup.

2. Is the Isofix base station included in the rental?

Yes, we rent both the iZi Go Modular infant seat and the iZi Modular child seat with the base station included. While the infant seat can be secured without the base station, the rear-facing child seat requires the Isofix base for installation

3. Do I have to install the child seat myself in the rental car?

Our local partner will hand over the rental child seat to you. You will need to install it in the car yourself. But don’t worry: all our rental child seats are designed to be easily installed in your vehicle. A quick look at the installation guides for our child seats will confirm this:

4. Do the child seats fit in every rental vehicle?

The BeSafe iZi Go Modular i-Size infant seat can be secured either with the Isofix base station or with the vehicle seatbelt, meaning it can be easily installed in almost any vehicle.

The BeSafe iZi Modular i-Size child seat can only be secured with Isofix and not with the vehicle seatbelt. Generally, rental vehicles are new enough to have Isofix attachments. If in doubt, specifically check with your car rental company to ensure that your rental car is equipped with Isofix.

The BeSafe iZi Up X3 Fix booster seat for children weighing between 15 and 36 kg can either be placed directly on the car seat and then fastened with your child, or you can use the Isofix arms to additionally secure the seat to the Isofix attachments in your rental vehicle. This makes the booster seat particularly flexible and suitable for any vehicle.

The BeSafe iZi Flex Fix i-Size booster seat for children with a height of 100 cm to 150 cm is also simply placed on the car seat and then fastened with your child. You also have the option to use the Isofix arms to additionally secure the seat to the Isofix attachments in your rental vehicle. Since this seat is approved according to the i-Size standard, it does not have a weight limit.

5. Is a deposit required?

Yes, we charge a deposit of €200 per child seat. This must be paid in advance (four weeks before the start of the rental). Of course, you will get the deposit back after returning the child seat.

Tip: Use the prepayment option if you book the child seat well in advance. This way, you don’t have to pay the deposit immediately, but can pay it later (as long as it's on time).

6. Is there a discount if I book multiple child seats?

If you book more than one child seat for your Gran Canaria vacation at the same time, you will receive a €20 discount on the total amount with the promo code SIBLINGS. Simply enter the promo code in the shopping cart and check the box. Feel free to contact us before your booking if you would like to rent three or more child seats at the same time.

7. How can we guarantee that the child seats are accident-free?

All our seats are checked for damage and functionality both when they are returned and before they are rented out again. Additionally, our customers are required to inform us immediately if the child seat has been involved in an accident. We will replace these seats at our expense, keeping the threshold for reporting accident damage as low as possible.

8. Can I extend the rental period spontaneously?

In principle, it is possible to extend the rental period. Please contact us by email at info@travelkids.de at least two days before the end of your booking period. We will then check if an extension is possible for your desired rental period. Since this depends on availability on site, we cannot guarantee that an extension will always be possible. However, shortening the rental period from 7 days is NOT possible.

9. Why do you need my flight number and flight times?

We need your exact flight details to ensure that the pickup desk is staffed at your arrival and departure times. With the flight numbers, our partner can easily accommodate any delays.
