If you've ever tried to rent a child seat for a rental vehicle, you're likely familiar with the common responses: Many car rental companies, whether in Germany or abroad, often cannot provide you with information about which child seats they have in their inventory. It's often a gamble to rent the right and undamaged car seat for your child.

We've had these and other experiences too, and that's why we provide a solution for Gran Canaria: You can rent a baby seat or a child seat for your stay in Gran Canaria from Germany and simply and conveniently pick it up at the airport or your holiday destination.

How to Rent an Infant Carrier or Child Seat in Gran Canaria

First, choose whether you want to rent an infant carrier, a child seat (for children from 61 to 105 cm), or a booster seat (15 to 36 kg, approximately 4 years and up). Next, select your travel period or booking duration in the calendar. Dates when no child seats are available will be blocked in the calendar.

Add your booking to the cart. Our system will add a deposit of €200 to the fees for each child seat. This deposit will be refunded to you after the proper return of the child seat at the end of your Gran Canaria vacation.

Please note that we require a lead time of 7 days to allow our local partner to prepare everything for you. The minimum booking duration is also 7 days. If you need a child seat for a shorter period, please email us at info@travelkids.de.

Pick-up and drop-off of your car seat on Gran Canaria

1. Where can I pick up my child seat?

2. Is the Isofix base station included in the rental package?

If you rent a baby carrier, the Isofix base station is always included in the rental package. The base is also included when booking the BeSafe iZi Modular i-Size. For the BeSafe Flex Fix follow-up seat, the Isofix arms are integrated into the child seat itself, so this seat does not require a separate base station.

3. Do I have to install the child seat in my rental vehicle myself?

Our local partner will hand you the rental child seat. You will need to install it in your vehicle yourself. But don't worry: all our rental child seats are very easy to install in the car. A first look at the quick guides for our child seats will confirm this:

4. Do the child seats fit in every rental vehicle?

The BeSafe iZi Go Modular i-Size infant car seat can be secured either with the Isofix base station or with the vehicle seatbelt. This means that this seat can be easily installed in almost any vehicle.

The BeSafe iZi Modular i-Size child seat, however, can only be secured with Isofix and not with the vehicle seatbelt. Typically, rental vehicles are new enough to have Isofix attachments. In case of doubt, explicitly check with your car rental company whether your rental car is equipped with Isofix.

The BeSafe Flex Fix follow-up seat for children with a height of 100 cm to 150 cm can either be simply placed on the car seat and fastened together with your child, or you can use the Isofix arms to secure the seat additionally to the Isofix attachment of your rental vehicle. This makes this child seat particularly flexible and it fits in any vehicle.

5. Is a deposit required?

Yes. We charge a deposit of €200 per child seat. This must be paid in advance (four weeks before the start of the rental). Of course, you will get your deposit back after returning the child seat.

Tip: Use the prepayment option if you book the child seat well in advance. This way, you don't have to pay the deposit immediately but can pay it later (but still on time).

6. Is there a discount if I book multiple child seats?

If you book more than one child seat at the same time for your Gran Canaria holiday, you will receive a €20 discount on the total amount with the promo code SIBLINGS. Simply enter the promo code in the shopping cart and check the box. Feel free to contact us before your booking if you would like to rent three or more child seats at the same time.

7. How can we guarantee that the child seats are accident-free?

All our seats are checked for damage and functionality both when they are returned and before they are rented out again. Additionally, our customers are required to inform us immediately if the child seat has been involved in an accident. We replace these seats at our expense to keep the threshold for reporting accident damage as low as possible.

8. Can I extend the rental period spontaneously?

Please email us at info@travelkids.de if you would like to extend the rental period for the child seats beyond the agreed-upon time. We will be happy to check if this is possible.

9. Why do you need my flight number and flight times?

We need your exact travel details to inform our local partner about your arrival and departure times. This ensures that the desk will be staffed when you arrive to pick up or return the child seats. The comments field at the end of the order is a great place to provide this information.
